Derrick Russell

I was going to write about something completely different today.  I was going to write about how badly I've been wanting to get a dog.  Talk about what type of dogs work well in apartments, maybe post some pictures of puppies.  You would have liked it.

But instead, right when I'm about to start typing that little window pops up.  You know the one.  "An update for your Adobe Flash Player is available."

No big deal if this were the first time that message had ever popped up.  But I think the first time I saw that message was like the 2nd day I'd ever been on the internet.  And I've seen it every single day since then. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

We get it adobe, you like to update.  Updates can be a good thing. But can I please go a few hours without you popping up to tell me the past thousand versions of yourself are now worthless and I can't survive if I don't get this latest edition. Sure I can click "remind me later" but later just so happens to be about 20 minutes from now.  Why can't it be "remind me when I shutdown/restart my computer" or "auto update after I've left for the day" you're a computer, you should be able to do that.  I guess you are just playing the percentage game, if you remind 3 billion people 3 billion times a day, you might get a dozen or so who will actually update, and 5 or 6 of those people maybe even press install now on purpose and don't immediately regret that decision.
So in conclusion, take a chill pill adobe. I need some space. It's not me... it's you.
