1. BLOOD DRIVE. Donate blood and help save a life (or three!)! The bloodmobiles will be at the Midland YMCA on Tuesday, October 13th, from 10:00am-2:00pm. Feel free to walk-in, or you can make an appointment here.
  2. THIRD THURSDAY READING EVENT. Halloween is just around the corner, so join The George W. Bush Childhood Home this Thursday, October 15th from 4:30 to 5:30 as they host their Third Thursday Reading Event brought to the public through our Laura Bush Literacy Program! The event will be held in the visitors center for children of all ages! You will read a number of books, including the feature book “Halloween Night.” Children in attendance will receive a copy of the featured book and a special gift from one of our sponsors!   3. LIVE MUSIC AT THE DESTINATION. The Band Big Spring Saturday October 17th. Doors open at 7pm. $10 cover charge and this event is BYOB $10 cooler charge (mid-size 20qt) & $25 Bottle Set-up. Food truck by El Vaquero.  Get tickets and details here.
  4. PINK THE PARK. The Annual Pink the Park event will be Saturday, October 17th at Momentum Bank Ballpark. Pink the Park honors those who have lost their battle, as well as those who are currently battling and survivors of Breast Cancer. The guest speaker this year is Ann Bradford, a local Midlander who survived her battle of Breast Cancer. Following the Guest Speaker, there will have a car parade that is open for anyone to participate! Get more information or register your vehicle for the parade here.
  5. BULKY ITEM DROP OFF. Odessans are invited to bring unwanted bulky items to UTPB Park on Saturday, October 17th for FREE disposal. This drive-thru quarterly event is partnered with city departments (Solid Waste and Street Division) and will provide educational information to help prevent Illegal Dumping in our community.
