THE OSCAR NOMINEES

The 86th Academy Awards are this weekend. American Hustle and Gravity lead the pack with 10 Nominations each.  There are 9 Best Picture Nominees this year, and it is my shame to say I've only seen 3 so far (Captain Phillips, Gravity, and Dallas Buyers Club).  Wolf of Wall Street is next on my list.*  I'm rooting for McConaughey for Best Actor but it would be nice to see Leo finally win one.  Cate Blanchett was great in Blue Jasmine so I'm hoping she wins Best Actress.  I think it would be hilariously awesome if Jonah Hill won Best Supporting and who doesn't like Jennifer Lawrence (answer: nobody).  Check out the full list of Nominees below and check out the show when it airs on ABC (KMID BIG 2)  March 2nd, Ellen DeGeneres hosts for the 2nd time.  Don't forget to comment and let me know your picks and favorites!

*I've seen Wolf of Wall Street and 12 Years a Slave since I originally posted this.  And now I really really hope Jonah Hill wins Best Supporting Actor

ASTRONAUT DROPS HAMMER ON THE MOON

I wish this was breaking news but sadly it is not.  This video making the rounds on the internet shows an Astronaut (Charles Duke of Apollo 16 to be precise) hammering a tube into the ground when he drops the hammer.  Due to the limitations of the space suit, and of the moons gravity maybe, he has to go through some crazy space manuevers to pick it up.  Some say the hammer is still there to this day... others say he eventually got the tongs and picked it up.

He drops the hammer at around 30 seconds, and his reaction shows Astronauts are just like us sometimes.
