Unlike the situation in his latest hit single, “All Over the Road” singer Easton Corbin was not able to talk his way out of a speeding ticket in Illinois. Easton was hauling his brand new motorcycle back to Nashville in his truck when he hit a construction zone – going going 30 miles over the speed limit. The singer says he had to quickly speed up to pass a semi when the two lanes merged into one.
Easton told ABC News Radio, ”You know, it’s only about 45 or 50 in this construction zone. Well, by the time I get past this semi, I’m going 80.”
He was immediately pulled over, the cop telling him that he was going a whopping 85 miles an hour.
Easton says, ”I just started cringing — a construction area going that fast. And he said, ‘Man, I just couldn’t let you go.’”
It’s a good thing the up-and-coming country singer has had a very successful year, because the fine wasn’t pretty.
“I had to hire an attorney to come pay my ticket,” Easton says. “It ended up costing me a thousand bucks. I was like, ‘I will never speed again in my life.’”
It happens to the best of us, Easton. Just take extra precaution on that sweet new bike of yours!
