It was an exceptional Christmas! We gathered our little flock together in the mountains and proceeded to eat, sleep, read, watch movies, decorate cookies and play games. Some fools of the male persuasion chose to camp in a blizzard while the smart females drank hot chocolate, sat by the fire in the cabin and watched “Love Actually”.
One of the things we do each year has now become a real tradition for us. My mother treats all of us to Christmas Eve lunch at The Lodge in Cloudcroft. We have been doing this for 5 or 6 years now, and we always have a terrific time (and a terrific meal).
This year was a very special meal. With the help of the staff at The Lodge, our son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Sara, had a cake delivered to the table for desert. The cake was decorated in pink icing…it was Adam and Sara’s way of letting us know that they are having a baby girl in May! What a “sweet” way to find out we are having a granddaughter!
We all think Eric and Lilly are having a boy in June. Stay tuned…
