With Independence Day upon us, I decided to google the top foods for the 4th.  This was one of the links that showed up. < How to Celebrate Independence Day: 8 Steps (with Pictures) >.  OK, now I'm curious!  The site outlines a very simplistic "handbook" to celebrating Independence Day.  It also has the one thing I was looking for... the top foods for the 4th!  Step 5 reads as follows...

Enjoy a barbecue or picnic with family or friends. Get together around at least 1 pm or so to spend the afternoon together. Traditionally, 4th of July food consists of:

Around the Peterson abode, we go all out.  Ribs, brisket, tater salad, coleslaw, homemade ice cream, etc.  So what are your favorite Independence Day foods?  Let me know in the comments!  Maybe we will add them to our celebration.
