Top 5 Things To Do This Weekend in Midland-Odessa (2/3-2/5)


  1. The Silver Spur Gun Show is in town this weekend at Midland County Horseshoe Arena. Vendors will have pistols, rifles, shotguns, lower receivers, range bags, mags, clip draws, gun cleaners, knives, holsters and much more! It is Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm. 2. West Texas Astronomers are holding a Star Party this Friday at Haley Park (behind Marian Blakemore Planetarium). You are invited to stop by and get a close-up view of the stars in the night sky. It is Friday evening, starting at dusk. Admission is FREE and everyone is welcome!

3. Big Spring Symphony Orchestra is proud to present their Winter Wonderland Concert this Saturday at Big Spring Municipal Auditorium. The symphony features talented musicians from all over Texas, including the Permian Basin. John Giordano will conduct and the performance will feature Steven Doug (grand prize winner of the Juanita Miller Concerto Piano Competition). It begins this Saturday evening at 7:30. 4. This Saturday is ‘Take Your Child To The Library’ Day. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a young person to the library to get a library card and learn about all the services the library offers. There will be crafts, a scavenger hunt, special displays, movies at 2pm and more. The first 100 participants will receive a special book bag. It is this Saturday fro 10am to 7pm at Midland County Library (Loop 250 and downtown location).

5. Saturday is also the Little Sweethearts Dance at Midland YMCA. Dress your best for this daddy/daughter, mother/son, guardian/child dance. You’ll enjoy light refreshments, dancing, pictures and games. Tickets are $20 per couple. Each additional child is only $5. There will be no day-of ticket sales. You must reserve your spot in advance HERE. It is this Saturday evening from 7 to 9pm.
